Exxon Mobil
Aviation Fluids
HYDRAULIC FLUIDS
- Exxon HyJet IV-Aplus – A fire-resistant phosphate ester hydraulic fluid for commercial aircraft.
Best-performing Type IV fluid offering high temperature stability, low density, rust protection.
Meets the specifications of all major aircraft manufacturers and SAE AS1241.
- Exxon HyJet V – Type V fire-resistant phosphate ester hydraulic fluid is superior in thermal and hydrolytic
stability compared to commercial Type IV hydraulic fluids. Better stability means fluid degradation in aircraft systems
will be less than Type IV fluids, in-service fluid life will be longer and maintenance costs will be lower.
Excellent high and low temperature flow properties (kinematic viscosities) and rust protection.
- Mobil Aero HFA – Premium quality fluid meets U.S. Military specification MIL-H-5606A. Very high VI, suitable
for temperatures to -54°C (-65°F). While this fluid is no longer used by the U.S. Military, it is used in private, and
commercial aircraft, also industrial and commercial equipment requiring good fluidity at very low temperatures.
- Mobil Aero HF – Premium fluid meets MIL-PRF-5606. Physical properties are very similar to Mobil Aero HFA,
meets “superclean” requirements required by modern aircraft hydraulic systems. Intended for military aircraft,
also used as a hydraulic fluid for private and commercial aircraft, and as a strut fluid in landing gear of
commercial aircraft. A NATO Code Number H-515 fluid.
- Mobil Aero HFS – Synthetic polyalphaolefin (PAO) lubricant meets MIL-PRF-83282. It does not contain a
viscosity index (VI) improver. Designed for use at temperatures to -40°C (-40°F). Lower flammability and
volatility and improved stability, but has a higher viscosity at low temperature then Mobil Aero HF.
Meets “superclean” requirements; intended primarily for U.S. Military aircraft. NATO Code Number H-537.
Mobil Aero HFA meets MIL-H-5606A (obsolete) quality level.
Mobil Aero HF meets MIL-PRF-5606 approved and NATO Code H-515.
Mobil Aero HFS meets MIL-PRF-83282 approved and NATO Code H-537.
JET OILS
- Mobil Jet Oil II – Engineered for aircraft gas turbine engines used in commercial and military service requiring
MIL-PRF-23699 performance and aircraft-type gas turbine engines in industrial or marine service. Formulated
with a stable synthetic base fluid and a unique chemical additive package for thermal and oxidative stability to resist
deterioration and deposit formation, and resistance to foaming. Operating range -40°C (-40°F) and 204°C (400°F).
- Mobil Jet Oil 254 – Synthetic aircraft-type gas turbine lubricant for commercial and military aircraft.
Formulated from a hindered-ester base stock for superior thermal and oxidation stability; operating range
is -40°C (-40°F) and 232°C (450°F).
- Mobil Avrex M Turbo 201/1010 – Gas turbine lubricant combines a proven aviation engine mineral oil base stock
and an ashless additive package. Meets MIL-PRF-6081, Grade 1010. Use only in turbine engines where operating
temperatures are within the capability range of mineral oil based lubricants. Operating range 40°C and 121°C
(-40°F and 250°F); pour point is below -57°C (-70°F).
- Mobil Avrex S Turbo 256 – Gas turbine lubricant has a highly stable synthetic base fluid and unique chemical
additive package. Outstanding thermal and oxidative stability to resist deterioration and deposit formation;
excellent resistance to foaming. Operating range is -54°C and 176°C (-65°F and 350°F). Pour point is below
-60°C (-75°F). High specific heat ensures good heat transfer from oil-cooled engine parts. Excellent bulk oil
stability at temperatures up to 176°C (350°F).
- Mobil Turbo 319A-2 – Developed for Russian gas turbine aircraft engines which operate on mineral-oil-based
lubricants. Formulated from a synthetic hydrocarbon combination of polyalphaolefin and hindered ester based
stock: superior thermal and oxidation stability compared to mineral-oil-based lubricants. The ability of Mobil Turbo
319A-2 to resist deterioration and deposit formation allows extended oil drain intervals and less frequent maintenance.
Closely controlled viscosity and a -60°C pour point allow engine starting and lubrication at low temperatures.
Excellent bulk oil stability up to 200°C (392°F). Evaporation rate at high temperatures is significantly lower than
mineral-oil-based products, and helps minimize oil consumption. Excellent resistance to foaming; compatible
with existing seal materials, including F Rubber (Viton A), H Rubber (Buna N), and silicone, as well as 11
metals used in gas turbines.
PISTON OILS
- Exxon Aviation Oil Elite 20W-50 – Premium quality, semi-synthetic, ashless-dispersant aviation piston engine oil
formulated from highly refined mineral base oils, a polyalphaolefin synthetic base oil, and ashless performance
additives for outstanding engine cleanliness, wear protection and corrosion protection. Aviation Oil Elite 20W-50 meets
the requirements of all opposed piston engine manufacturer’s requirements under a wide range of climactic conditions.
